Personal Therapy

Personal psychotherapy provides a safe space to explore current difficulties, challenges, and problematic behaviours in life.

Therapy can help you overcome challenges related to your well-being. It can enhance positive feelings such as compassion and self-esteem. Moreover, therapy helps develop skills for managing difficult situations, making healthy decisions, and achieving life goals. Many people enjoy the therapeutic journey, becoming more self-aware and experiencing ongoing personal growth.

Personal therapy is a collaborative process where you stay in control, set the pace of the conversation, choose the areas of your life to explore, and determine what feels important for you to work on.

Areas of Focus Include:
  • Anxiety
  • Chronic Relapse
  • Codependency
  • Coping Skills
  • Depression
  • Divorce
  • Family Conflict
  • Grief
  • Infidelity
  • Life Transitions
  • Men’s Issues
  • Non-Monogamy
  • Relationship Issues
  • Self Esteem
What to expect in Therapy

The first session of therapy often focuses on gathering information.

      • We’ll talk about your past physical, mental, and emotional health.
      • We’ll begin exploring the concerns that brought you into therapy.

At first, it may be hard to talk about past experiences or current concerns. Sessions may stir up intense emotions. It is possible to experience feelings of upset, anger, or sadness during treatment. However, therapy can help people build confidence and become more comfortable as sessions progress.

Often, you’ll be assigned “homework” or “between-session” exercises to help build on topics discussed in your sessions.  As time passes, people in therapy may develop a more positive mood and healthier thinking patterns.

Length of Therapy

The duration of therapy can vary significantly based on your unique circumstances and goals. It’s understandable to want to know how long it may take to start feeling better. However, it’s essential to remember that there is no one-size-fits-all answer. Each person’s journey is unique, and taking the time you need is perfectly acceptable.
